It’s debatable

I wonder if there’s any real point in my watching tonight’s presidential debate. I want to stay politically and culturally cognizant, of course — and I’ve watched both of the previous two debates — but I’m not an undecided voter. Short of a complete personality and policy shift (and a new VP), there’s not a chance in hell I’ll be voting for John McCain come November 4.

So the debate may serve only to make me angry whenever I think McCain is lying, smug when I think Obama has scored a point, and curious about how the inevitable Saturday Night Live sketch will portray events. I’m not sure what information, much less enjoyment I’d get out of it. And that’s a hefty chunk of time out of my evening.

And yet I feel like I should watch it.

Update: I didnt watch it, and I feel strangely better for it.
