Today was really rather Thursdayish, wasn’t it?
Since I don’t have much of anything else to say about the day — I mean, I finished reading the deeply disappointing Her Fearful Symmetry, but that’s about it — here’s my music mix for February 2012:
- “Paper Plane” by Persephone’s Bees
- “Sugar” by the Horrible Crowes
- “Ghost Riders in the Sky” by Concrete Blonde
- “Raining in My Heart” by Graham Nash
- “Hope in the Air” by Laura Marling
- “Uku” by Dengue Fever
- “Rivers and Roads” by the Head and the Heart
- “Love Minus Zero/No Limit” by Jackson Browne
- “Smokescreen” by Willis
- “Les plus beaux” by Fránçois & the Atlas Mountains
Is it really March already?
I read Her Fearful Symmetry something like a year and a half ago, and I’m still annoyed by how disappointing it was.
I really enjoyed The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Niffenegger is clearly a writer of some talent, but it was such a shapeless mess of a book. I’d have been more forgiving, I think, if it hadn’t also been some four hundred pages long.
Yeah, I loved The Time Traveler’s Wife, which made that one more of a disappointment. By the end, I was sick and tired of almost every character in it.
