“Dear girl, man the machine.”

Another pleasingly uneventful day around here.

This evening, I watched Dr. Phibes Rises Again, and I honestly didn’t enjoy it. It’s a shame, since the original, The Abominable Dr. Phibes is a macabre delight, but this was more uninspired, silly, and dull than anything else. I had more fun tweeting about the movie and reading about the sequels that never were on Wikipedia. (A crime-fighting Dr. Phibes? Mad genius!)

I will say this, though: Peter Jeffrey and John Cater steal nearly every scene they’re in as Inspecter Trout and Superintendent Waverley. (“Every time we build a better mousetrap, sir, Phibes just builds a better mouse.”)

    • Not so much, no. Not that there isn’t much to be said for collectively watching and Twittering about a bad movie, but I don’t think Phibes would work.

Clash of the Titans maybe? Or Resident Evil?
