Hear, hear, Mr. Ebert! The movie ratings system as it currently stands is almost worse than useless, IMO.
It exists mostly so the studios can claim to be doing something. Yet what they do often does more harm than good. Kirby Dick’s documentary This Film Is Not Yet Rated isn’t perfect, but it does expose a lot of the very serious problems in the current ratings system — first and foremost that it’s ineffective and almost entirely opaque.
