A really good response last week, with all but one lyric guessed right away. Let’s see if we can get a repeat — or better — response this week:
- “Eclipse” by Pink Floyd, guessed by Rob
And all that you buy, beg, borrow, or steal - “Shaky Town” by Jackson Browne, guessed by Occupant
Must have played in a thousand bands - “Empty Chairs” by Don McLean, guessed by Occupant
I feel the trembling tingle of a sleepless night - “Pepper” by Butthole Surfers, guessed by Clayton
I don’t mind the sun sometimes, the images it shows - “Girl from the North Country” by Bob Dylan, guessed by Occupant
Please see for me if her hair’s hanging long - “Great DJ” by the Ting Tings”
You gotta love the BPM - “Raspberry Beret” by Prince, guessed by Clayton
He told me several times that he didn’t like my kind - “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House, guessed by Kim
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there’s no proof - “The Rose” by Bette Midler, guessed by Clayton
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong - “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)” by Scott McKenzie, guessed by Betty and Clayton
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation
As always, good luck!
#1: “Eclipse” – Pink Floyd
1 – Brain Damage – Pink Floyd
4 – Pepper – Butthole Surfers
7 – Raspberry Beret – Prince
9 – The Rose – Bette Midler
Damn, people got in with the Floyd ahead of me. It is “Eclipse,” by the way. Technically a different song than “Brain Damage.”
I knew #9, too. I had to memorize that song in the 6th grade for some stupid school assembly thing.
Well, I’m pretty sure #10 is “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)”, but I’m damned if I can remember who sings it. Some hippie band. 🙂
If you’re correct about #10, I think the singer is Scott McKenzie.
2. “Shaky Town” by Jackson Brown
3. “Empty Chairs” by Don McLean
5. “Girl From the North Country” by Bob Dylan
8 is Don’t Dream It’s Over by Crowded House
