I just got a “happy anniversary” card in my mailbox at work. As of October 18, I’ll have been employed here for four years.
Huh. How’d that go and happen?

Wow…I hit eight this November, and I had to call my HR department to remind them about it (I get a vacation bonus after eight years’ service).
This is actually the longest I’ve been at any job — unless you count up all the time I worked at Penn State, including the part-time job I had there. The plaque my co-workers gave me when I left counted it, so maybe I should too. Technically, I’ve had a weird sort of run at this company as well. When one of the two editors I used to work for quit, they relocated my job to the Florida office and fired me. But I lucked into another position right away, within a couple of days actually and with a really good team. Two promotions and a couple of years later, I’m still there.
On October 1st, I hit 16 years at this job. Somebody shoot me now.
