So Scrabulous returns as Wordscraper. Which is great, except I think I’m actively disliking this new version.
Update: Best Week Ever goes a long way to explaining what I don’t like about it. Some people really like the “random rules” feature, but from the couple of games I’ve played, it seems to just make the scoring complex and arbitrary. Not a single one of the games has actually been fun. It’s still early, so I may stick with it — although, as this blog suggests, the application may not actually be “new” — but I’m not loving what I’ve seen thus far. If Hasbro can fix the bugs in their system, add some of the features that are currently missing, and cut back on some of the tedious animations, I think I’ll stick with them.
Because, see, what I liked about Scrabulous…? That it was, y’know, Scrabble.
