If you think about it, it’s literally not true. Sure, you save your own money on gas, but what about the mail carrier huh?
Unless, they offer a direct download service. I don’t think they do.
Ah, but you’re not carpooling to the video rental store with all the other people on your block, now you? Because yes, my mail carrier has to drive the rental to me, but she parks midway up the block and walks to each house. One mail truck still uses less gas than lots of cars.
And Netflix does offer a free Watch Instantly option, where you can watch movies online. It’s not without hiccups, and the selection is a lot more limited, but I’ve used it plenty of times.
But I’m not trying to shill for them, or even claim their ad is completely accurate. It’s just that high gas prices have become such a part of our lives that it’s a part of the commercial.
