  1. I remember Joust. One of my favorite games to have my brother kick my ass at when I was a kid. I also seem to remember that it’s kind of low on plot, being one of those pre-NES games with the vaguely-shaped-like-something blobs.

This is a joke, right? Like Minesweeper: The Movie? No? Ho-lee…

  2. Holy crap! Joust was one of my favorites, right after Dig Dug!

You ride a big chicken and you try to sit on other big chickens and capture the eggs they lay! At least, that’s what it looked like on the Atari 2600. The coin-op looked much better.

I would pay money to pan this film.

  3. Joust was pretty awsome on the Atari. Not that it made a whole lot of sense, at all. I mean, does the damn pteradectile come swooping in mid-movie and eat all the lead actors? Do the survivors get pulled down into the lava by that hand? It’s a fun game, but how do you make anything coherant out it?

  4. I loved Joust as a kid. But this whole let’s-make-a-movie-out-of-a-video-game thing is getting ridiculous.

Halfway through the movie they take the cartridge out and blow on it.

  5. I never was one for Joust — I was more of a Defender kid myself.

But I’d rather see the Dig Dug and Galaga movies.

  6. I’m pretty sure Joust had absolutely no storyline whatsoever.

It would be marketing stupidity to not release a new Joust game alongside the movie.

However, the game will probably be based off the movie.. which is based off the game..
