Last week, which somehow seems like much more than a week ago. This week:
- “Mother Nature’s Song” by the Beatles, guessed by Kim
Listen to the pretty sound of music as she flies - “Such Great Heights” by the Postal Service
I hope this song will guide you home - “The Twist” by Hank Ballard & the Midnighters (later, Chubby Checker), more or less guessed by Betty
Take me by my little hand and go like this - “Germs” by Weird Al Yankovic, guessed by Occupant
But that’s one state I’m never in - “Islands in the Stream” by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, guessed by Clayton
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb - “That Old Sweet Roll (Hi-De-Ho)” by Dusty Springfield, more or less guessed by Occupant
Tempted me with worldly goods, said I could have my pick - “Lonely Teardrops” by Jackie Wilson, guessed by Occupant
Just give me another chance for our romance - “Till the End of the Day” by the Kinks
Yeah, I get up, and I see the sun up - “Waving Goodbye” by Bree Sharp
Throwing all the roses at me - “Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat” by Bob Dylan
Just like a mattress balances on a bottle of wine
Good luck!
Whoo-hoo! First again! Except I don’t know very many this time…
3. “The Twist” by Chuck Berry. Is that the actual title? Maybe it’s “Do the Twist.”
And I have this strong feeling I’m going to be kicking myself when someone answers #2.
Well, it is “The Twist,” though I think you’re thinking of Chubby Checker, not Chuck Berry. Though, in this case, it’s actually the original version, by Hank Ballard & the Midnighters.
D’oh! Checker, Berry… Some guy with a noun for a last name. 🙂
1. Mother Nature’s Son – Beatles
5 – “Islands in the Stream” – Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, or the Bee Gees
4, “Germs” – Weird Al Yankovic
6. “Hi-De-Ho” – Blood Sweat and Tears
7. “Lonely Teardrops” – Jackie Wilson
