Friday, at long last! I am so not used to working five-day weeks. Because of holidays, doctor appointments, and a couple of vacation days, I never had a full week in all of January. And that came on the heels of the Christmas holidays, when I was out the better part of two weeks. That was so much more fun than this.
Anyway, because it’s Friday, here’s that little thing I do:
- “Ring on the Sill” by Cowboy Junkies
She’s thinking of the siege to come - “American Car” by Mike Doughty
I want to run away and join the office - “Tennessee Jed” by the Grateful Dead
Rich man step on my poor head - “An Evening in Paradise” by Jimmy Scott
Your kisses were like the first spring flower - “Old Man” by Neil Young, guessed by Kim
I’m a lot like you were - “Indoor Fireworks” by Elvis Costello & the Attractions
We play these parlor games - “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin, guessed by Thud
You might want to sing it note for note - “Last Dance” by Neil Young
I chase the backbeat from behind - “Mike’s Song” by Phish
And the orange juice is cold, cold, cold - “Woman” by John Lennon, guessed by Kim
Please remember my life is in your hands
You guess the lyric. Here are last week’s answers. It also occurs to me that I never got around to posting answers to the week before that. As always, best of luck!
7. Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Slipnot. No! Bobbt McFerrin.
5. Old Man by Neil Young
10. Woman by John Lennon
Of course I would get Old Man by Neil Young — especially today — but nothing else, as usual.
